3B Turf Pest Control
Category 3B – Turf Pest Control under the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) pesticide licensing program authorizes the application of pesticides to control pests that affect turfgrass areas. This category typically includes lawns at residential and commercial properties, athletic fields, parks, cemeteries, golf course turf (excluding greens when otherwise regulated), and other maintained grass areas. Applicators licensed in Category 3B treat insects, weeds, diseases, and other pests that damage or reduce the quality of turfgrass. Applications may include broadcast or spot treatments to maintain healthy, functional, and aesthetically acceptable turf.
