Approved for BOTH NJDEP Exam Prep & NJDEP Re-certification

This is a one-day 6-hour class that runs from 10am-4pm ET. The class is delivered through Zoom and can be taken from any location with a stable internet connection. This class is designed to be used in lieu of 40 hrs of on-the training for the Category 3A License. In addition, you must also take the Basic Pesticide Training Course for CORE Certification to be certified.

Who Should Take This Course?

Category 3A – Ornamental Pest Control under the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) pesticide licensing program authorizes the application of pesticides to control pests that affect ornamental plants, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and other decorative plantings. This category typically applies to landscaped areas around homes, commercial properties, parks, golf courses, and public buildings. Applicators licensed in Category 3A treat insects, mites, diseases, and other pests that damage ornamental vegetation, and may perform applications such as foliar sprays, soil treatments, or trunk injections to maintain the health and appearance of ornamental landscapes.

Smartphones, tablets, shared devices, and audio-only call-ins are not permitted. Attendance is visually monitored by a moderator.

1. Join from your own computer. Use your own PC or Mac and a unique email address.

2. Keep live video on. You must be visible for the entire session.

3. Have photo ID ready. A government-issued photo ID is verified before and after the class.

4. Participate throughout. Complete randomly scheduled polls and stay until the end.
